We have known for some time now that Legion would be releasing in early 2017, but no actual month or date was given, but we now have an answer. Legion, the X-Men show focusing on Professor X’s son David Haller, will release in February of 2017.
With the announcement, Marvel has also released a brand new teaser trailer highlighting some of the powers Haller has, and his insanity.

While the trailer ends with the news of a February release, we still do not have an exact date.
I was at NYCC where I got to see the first half of the pilot episode for the series, and I can say that Legion is now my most anticipated superhero television show. The show will likely be on the level of Fargo in terms of quality, making it the best superhero/super-powered television show to date.
The show will likely take place within the current X-Men Universe, but will not directly connect until later in the season. Furthermore, the show does not take place within the MCU.
Since he was a teenager, David has struggled with mental illness. Diagnosed as schizophrenic, David has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years. But after a strange encounter with a fellow patient, he’s confronted with the possibility that the voices he hears and the visions he sees might be real.
Legion will release February 2017 on FX.
