What’s better than an emormous LEGO set? An enormous Star Wars LEGO set!
Today, The LEGO Group has taken to Twitter to announce their biggest Star Wars LEGO set to date, tweeting: “Get ready!
#LEGOStarWars is assembling its biggest set yet! We just can’t wait for October 1st! @starwars.”
Included with the tweet was a video that doesn’t reveal much about what the set will actually be, but it did give us the date on which the mysterious set will be released: October 1st, 2017. Check out the video below:

The LEGO Group also had fun toying with the fans in the comments, replying to a fan that asked for a hint with, “Sure. It’s something to do with Star Wars,” and revealing that, “The box is not very large and could fit in a standard piece of luggage.”
The question at this time is what will the set actually be? LEGO has made several large Star Wars sets before, such as the Death Star or the Super Star Destroyer sets. Could it be a full Starkiller Base set from The Force Awakens or maybe even something from The Last Jedi? Or perhaps it will be the rumored Ultimate Collector Series Millennium Falcon set. With the release date only a month and a half away, we shouldn’t have to wait long to find out.
The next chapter in the Star Wars saga will be Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Written and directed by Rian Johnson, the film stars Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Carrie Fisher as General Leia Organa, Daisy Ridley as Rey, John Boyega as Finn, Adam Driver as Kylo Ren, Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron, Lupita Nyong’o as Maz Kanata, Kelly Marie Tran as Rose Tico, Laura Dern as Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo, Gwendoline Christie as Captain Phasma, Andy Serkis as Supreme Leader Snoke, Domhnall Gleeson as General Armitage Hux, Benicio Del Toro as “DJ,” Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca, Anthony Daniels as C-3PO and Jimmy Vee as R2-D2.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters December 15, 2017.
8 ‘Star Wars’ Spin-Off Movies We Really Want To See
May the 4th be with you, everyone! Even on May the 8th! With Star Wars weekend in the rear-view mirror, it’s still a great time to kick back, get out your old glow-in-the-dark lightsaber toys and Darth Vader Halloween masks, and pop in those original trilogy DVDs. Maybe even all 8 currently-released films, if you’re up for the challenge (both mental and otherwise). Speaking of which, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story just came out on Blu-ray, marking the first home release of many Star Wars spin-off movies to come.
Of these, only one future title has been confirmed – Han Solo: A Star Wars Story, to be released in May of 2018. Beyond that, we know Disney had at least two more planned, and probably more down the line. And why not? The Star Wars universe is so ripe for exploration. There are so many characters we were introduced to in the Saga movies that could easily get their own film. And it doesn’t stop there. The legacy of the Jedi and the Sith go back thousands of years, opening up virtually endless possibilities of story material.
Given this abundance of material just waiting to be tapped into, Heroic Hollywood decided to celebrate the Star Wars holiday by compiling a list of the Star Wars stand-alone movies we’d most like to see. While some of the films on this list are more likely to be developed than others, they each share one unifying factor: they’d all be freakin’ awesome!
