As part of the promotional campaign for the upcoming The Lego Batman Movie and the 2017 North American Auto Show, LEGO and Chevrolet got together to build a life-size version of the Batmobile showed in the movie, and the process is both amazing and mesmerizing, as shown in this time-lapse video of the construction courtesy of ABC news.
This Batmobile is made up of 344,187 LEGO bricks of 17 different colors. It’s 17 foot long, took around 222 hours to design and over 1800 hours to construct. And just so you get an idea of the car’s weight, each of its tires weighs over 100 lbs.
The unveiling of the car came along with a spot for the car featuring LEGO Batman and ‘Real LEGO minifigures. Not actors’ making hilarious remarks about the design of the Batmobile. You can check it the complete video below.
‘Well it’s all black. Probably someone with self-esteem issues?’ one of the attendees noted. ‘Judging by these rocket launchers, this person is kind of defensive’.
I for one would love to see this life-size LEGO Batmobile version. So if you’re around the Detroit area be sure to check out the North American International Auto Show, you have until January 22. You can also see more details of the car in Chevrolet’s official site for the car.
