‘The Lego Movie 2’ Delayed Until 2019

For fans of the Lego Movie, the wait has been extended to see a sequel on the big screen. The sequel to The Lego Movie has been pushed back for nine months and will be released in Feb. 8, 2019. The sequel was set to open on May 18, 2018.

While this is a delay, Lego Batman and Ninjago are opening in 2017. Lego Batman is set to be released on February 10th and Ninjago on September 17th 2017.

The promotion for Lego Batman continues, Will Arnett has confirmed that the film will have a presence at the upcoming San Diego Comic Con. Arnett will be promoting the upcoming film in person during the event. Lego Batman could be sharing the Hall H stage with Suicide Squad.

The Lego Movie was a massive hit in 2014, making over $469 million at the box office.

Warner Bros. has moved around a few films. The upcoming Gerald Butler drama Geostorm has been moved back nine months Oct. 20, 2017. Ben Affleck’s drama Live by Night has been moved forward nine months to Jan. 13, 2017, the original release date for Geostorm. Affleck is directing Night from his own script, adapted from the 2012 novel by Dennis Lehane. The film stars Affleck, Chris Messina, Sienna Miller, Brendan Gleeson, Zoe Saldana, Chris Cooper and Elle Fanning.
