‘Game Of Thrones’ Star Lena Headey Being Sued Over Her Cut ‘Thor 4’ Role

The Game of Thrones star almost entered the MCU!

Lena Headey Game of Thrones cut Thor Love and Thunder role

Lena Headey’s former UK agency Troika is suing her for $1.5 million over unpaid commission fees on various projects, including a role in Thor: Love and Thunder that was cut from the final film.

Lena Headey rose to fame following her appearance in HBO’s Game of Thrones, in which she played the sinister Cersei Lannister, appearing in the critically acclaimed series from its beginning up until its final season. It has now emerged, amidst legal wranglings with her former agency, that Headey was also due to appear in Marvel’s Thor: Love and Thunder, though her role was cut from the final film.

Lena Headey Narrowly Misses Out On MCU Role

Troika, who have recently rebranded as YMU, have alleged that Lena Headey owes them $500,000 in commission fees for her role in Marvel Studios’ Thor: Love and Thunder, despite the fact Headey does not appear in the finished film. Headey has disputed Troika’s claim to any commission on her Thor: Love and Thunder role, which she says came about when the film’s director Taika Waititi approached her directly.

Troika also say Lena Headey has failed to pay a $300,000 commisson fee on the film 9 Bullets, in which she starred opposite Sam Worthington. Headey has said that, as with Thor: Love and Thunder, her role in this film was not negotiated by Troika.

Lena Headey has also said she has made payments of commission fees for her role in the pilot of dramedy series Rita for Showtime, an adaptation of a Danish series. Troika are alleging Headey owes $650,000 in commission fees for the series, though Headey has pointed out she only ever received $325,000 for the show’s pilot – beyond which, the series was never picked up – and has paid the $22,750 commission fee on this. Headey has also pointed out that she never signed a contract with Troika, acting only on an oral agreement, and that they were not the only agency representing her – she is also represented by CAA in the United States.

Here is the synopsis for Thor: Love and Thunder:

The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.

Directed by Taika Waititi and produced by Kevin Feige and Brad Winderbaum, the film stars Chris Hemsworth, Christian Bale, Tessa Thompson, Taika Waititi, Russell Crowe, Natalie Portman, Jaimie Alexander, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper.
