Paramount’s Live-Action ‘Micronauts’ Film Finds A New Writer

Paramount has tapped Puss In Boots and B.O.O.: Bureau of Otherworldly Operations screenwriter Tom Wheeler to re-write the script for their upcoming Micronauts film. The live-action film will be based on the toy line which originally began in Japan and later moved to the states and became a Marvel Comic series that expanded upon the mythology. The classic Marvel series that saw the team re-imagined as a group of subatomic explorers in the Microverse.

Wondering why they couldn’t use the term in Ant-Man? Well, just like the character Bug, which James Gunn wanted to use in the first Guardians Of The Galaxy, the rights are with Hasbro for the two. The franchise has seen two comic book incarnations since then and it’s unclear which of these the film might draw from. The original draft for the project was written by Zombieland & Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick will be produced by J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot and Paramount. No other details are known about the project at the time. No other details are known about the project at this time.
