Since 2010, AMC’s The Walking Dead has thrilled audiences the world over. The adaption of Robert Kirkman’s comic book, currently stars Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus. The series is in its seventh season, and is still, amazingly, entertaining fans worldwide. One of the series’ greatest foes is the Saviors, who have made the life of protagonist Rick, a living nightmare.

Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2‘s Elizabeth Ludlow, who currently stars on the show as Arat, has been particularly busy taking on the persona of one of these Saviors for the season. In the show’s midseason finale, Arat became hated by fans all over. In a shocking development, Arat killed fan-favourite character Olivia. In a new interview with TWD Fansite, the actress revealed the backlash she has received for her character’s horrifying actions:

“I did receive my fair share of negativity for killing Olivia, buy it was expected. She was an extremely loved character, so I had an expectation of negativity when I read the script for that day. The love I have received and continue tor achieve heavily outweighs the negativity though, so it’s easy not to pay attention to that stuff.”

Of course, whenever something like this happens on a show of this magnitude, it is expected that fans may overreact a tad. Thankfully, fans have come around to both Ludlow and Arat, as they, respectively, have been extremely well receive by fans and critics alike.

So, what do you guys think? How did you feel about Arat’s homicide? The Walking Dead returns on February 12, 2017.

Waking up in an empty hospital after weeks in a coma, County Sheriff Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) finds himself utterly alone. The world as he knows it is gone, ravaged by a zombie epidemic. The Walking Dead tells the story of the weeks and months that follow after the apocalypse.
