Luke Cage made quite the impact with the release of Season 1 on Netflix this year in more ways than one. Not only did so many people watch it when it came out, it actually managed to crash Netflix. It turns out that the Marvel series is the biggest hit for the company on Netflix this year, as Observer has come out with some interesting statistics.
Throughout 32 days after the release of Season 1, 6.34% of viewers aged in the 18 to 49 demograph were watching Luke Cage in an average minute. They also went on to say that the Power Man series opened stronger against fellow Netflix shows like Making A Murderer and Stranger Things. When compared to fellow Marvel Netflix shows, Observer reported that Daredevil Season 2 only did 5.94% when using the same metric
“After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) becomes a fugitive who attempts to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But soon he is pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city _ forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.”
Marvel’s Luke Cage Season 1, starring Mike Colter, Alfre Woodard, Mahershala Ali, Simone Missick, Frank Whaley and Theo Rossi, is now streaming, only on Netflix.com/MarvelsLukeCage. Colte’s Luke Cage will be next seen in the upcoming series, The Defenders, starring Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones and Finn Jones as Danny Rand/Iron Fist, which will be out on Netflix in 2017.
