Luke Evans would be interested in returning to the Fast and Furious franchise, either in the ninth entry or in the upcoming spin-ff film that will focus on The Rock’s Hobbs and Jason Statham’s Deckard Shaw. In the franchise, Luke Evans plays Owen Shaw, the brother of Deckard Shaw.
Owen Shaw was originally a villain in Fast 6 but was later left for dead, which led to his brother Deckard avenging him in Furious 7 while he laid in the hospital. In Fate of the Furious, Owen Shan appeared in a cameo to help out his brother and Dom’s family, who he’s made peace with.
During his press tour for Professor Marston and the Wonder Women, ScreenRant got the chance to ask Evans if he’d be interested in returning to the franchise:
“I would be very happy to be involved with them, yes. Fast and Furious has been part of my life now for about four year – more than that. I literally just left the NBC studios and one of the security guys said, “Nice to meet you, Owen Shaw.” He called me by my bad guy’s character. Not just the first, but the second name. The character really resonates and stuck with people. So I’m in my head very connected to the franchise and very happy he was back in The Fate of the Furious, so who knows? Let’s see. Anything can happen as we know.”
Nothing has been confirmed as of yet, but as the brother of Deckard Shaw, it would be easy for Evans to slip into the film either as a cameo or a full-fledged character. If anything, he could play the perfect sidekick to compliment The Rock and Jason Statham.

5 Reasons Warner Bros. Needs To Fast-Track The ‘Man Of Steel’ Sequel
Superman is a pop culture icon. The character was introduced to the masses in 1938. Eventually after radio shows, serials and animated adaptations, Superman became a movie icon following the release 1978’s Superman: The Movie. The seminal superhero film, directed by Richard Donner and starring Christopher Reeve, was followed by three sequels and one spin-off. In 2006, Bryan Singer brought Superman back to the silver screen with Superman Returns. The movie was divisive so it was back to the drawing board for Warner Bros. and DC Comics. Eventually, Zack Snyder was brought on board for the next iteration of Superman: Man of Steel.
Man of Steel was released in 2013 to decent reviews. The movie was a financial hit, but instead of doing a direct sequel, Warner Bros. went with Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. That movie has come and gone and Justice League is on the horizon. Last year, it was also announced that a sequel to Man of Steel was coming along. There has been no word on that movie other than a few rumors here and there. This may be due to the situation that Superman was left in at the end of Batman v Superman, which will be resolved in Justice League.
There are many reasons why Man of Steel deserves a sequel. Here are a few reasons Warner Bros. needs to fast-track the project. Click Next to get started!
