Mads Mikkelsen Confirmed As Villain In ‘Doctor Strange’

It’s truly Doctor Strange Monday today as we are getting more details about the 2nd film in Marvel’s 3rd Phase. While we have known for a while that Mads Mikkelsen is in Doctor Strange, Entertainment Weekly has now confirmed that Mikkelsen is in fact the big bad of the film.

In an interview with EW, Marvel head Kevin Feige and executive producer Stephen Broussard had this to say about Mikkelsen’s role in the film.

“Mads’ character is a sorcerer who breaks off into his own sect. [He] believes that the Ancient One is just protecting her own power base and that the world may be better off if we were to allow some of these other things through.”

But WHO is he playing? That’s the one question that we will have to wait to get an answer to, for a while as Broussard gave the following tease.

“I’ve seen lots of names thrown around. No one has quite picked the name that we’ve chosen for him. It would be fun to conceal that, if we can.”

Doctor Strange is slated to come out on November 4, 2016.
