The Walking Dead was confirmed for another season nearly a week before the current one aired its first episode, and now a new actress has been revealed for a role in the show. Speaking with People, Maria Bello mentioned how she was obsessed with the show and wanted a part for awhile now.

“I am obsessed with the show. I have a friend who’s a producer on it and I’ve asked them to write me a part, which apparently they are for next season.”

Looks like with Bello’s connections, she’s getting her dreams to come true. Granted, just like us, Bello has no idea as to the size of her role in the next season.

“Even if I just play a zombie. I said, ‘I’ll just come out and play a zombie for an episode, I don’t care!’ But it is my favorite show.”

So whether fans will need to be on the lookout for a certain zombie next season, or if her role will be slightly more obvious we must wait to see.

Bello is most known for her role on ER and is currently in Amazon’s series Goliath.

The Walking Dead season 7 is on Sunday’s at 9pm on AMC, and season 8 will likely air next October.

  • In Brightest Day

It’s still way too early for the Whisperers, but she’d make an excellent Alpha.

    • The Conductor

She didn’t mention when in S8 she would be joining. Maria could be making an appearance toward the end of the season to set Alpha up as the main villain for S9 for all we know. In that case, it wouldn’t be too early for the Whisperers.
