Mark Hamill Can’t Explain This ‘Star Wars’ Plot Hole

Mark Hamill couldn’t provide an answer when asked about a Star Wars plot hole involving R2-D2.

With nine films in the main saga, Star Wars fans have spent years picking over small details and plot holes that don’t add up in the universe. One fan recently realized that R2-D2 appears throughout all nine films in the Skywalker saga and has knowledge of everything, yet he doesn’t tell Luke Skywalker about who his father really is or what happened to him after the fall of the Republic.

Mark Hamill himself saw the tweet and jokingly said he had no idea how to explain the plot hole either. Whether R2-D2 just decided to keep the information about Darth Vader to himself to save Luke the pain or if he’s just being selfish isn’t clear. But either way, it’s fun to realize the strange links and plot holes across the universe with character arcs like R2-D2’s.

What do you think of the Star Wars plot hole? Do you think R2-D2 should’ve mentioned something about Luke’s heritage to him? Sound off in the comments below!
