Mark Millar is having a bit of a hot streak recently. Many of his graphic novels and properties are being developed into films. Kick Ass went on to have a sequel, Matthew Vaughn is set to start shooting the sequel of Kingsman: The Secret Service in Spring 2016 and Warner Bros. recently picked up Nemesis from FOX with Ridley Scott’s, Scott Free Producing and Joe Carnahan directing. Two other of his properties that are in development are Superior and Starlight, but we haven’t heard much from those projects for a few years.
A few weeks ago The Tracking Board announced that Jeff Robinov’s Studio 8 was set to adapt Millar’s latest comic foray Huck with no specific released date mentioned. In a recent interview with The Sun, Mark Millar stated that he wants Channing Tatum to star in the upcoming comic book adaptation. His reasoning for choosing Tatum comes after Tatum rushed to the aide of Stan Lee and helped him down the stairs at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.
If Millar gets his wish, this would mark his second role in a comic book adaptation (if all goes well with Gambit and they find a director) for Tatum. Channing Tatum could be perfect for the role. Huck is described as a “Forest Gump/Captain America” type of character who does a good deed everyday and Tatum practically embodies that. If you don’t believe me check out the heroics Millar mentioned as Tatum helps 92 year old Stan Lee off the stage at Comic-Con.
You can check out the description of Huck below and check out Huck Issue #1 when it comes out in November.
