Mark Ruffalo Talks About The Chances Of Future ‘Hulk’ Films

One of the most beloved characters and actors in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner a.k.a. The Hulk who has been a fan-favorite since Ruffalo took over the role, starting in The Avengers back in 2012. Since then, fans of the incredible monster have wanted to see a new Hulk film as there haven’t been any other follow-ups since The Incredible Hulk back in 2008 starring Edward Norton in the role.

Like the X-Men and many more, the movie rights to the Hulk were at Universal Studios, but since then, Marvel Studios/Disney have gotten the film rights back. However there is one thing that they do not have and that is the distribution rights, which is unfortunately one of the reasons why development on a Hulk sequel hasn’t really been happening amongst the power that be. In a new interview with Yahoo! Movies, Ruffalo was asked about what the current state about a possible Hulk film is at and his response may bum you out.

“I think they’ve been working on it. Marvel and Universal famously don’t get along very well, and so that’s working against us, definitely. But I know for a fact that everyone is holding out hope that one day we can do it. But the nature of the relationship right now, it’s a little prohibitive. And I hope that that changes, that changes with regimes, it changes over the course of time. But right now it doesn’t look particularly promising.”
