Mark Zuckerberg’s New Year’s Resolution Is To Code JARVIS From ‘Iron Man’

Each year, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg likes to challenge himself to do something new. For 2016, he has a particularly ambitious personal challenge. He wants to create a new AI.

Anyone who’s familiar with the Iron Man films knows that JARVIS is an incredibly advanced form of artificial intelligence. Not only does he help Tony Stark run the Iron Man suit, but he also helps out by running a lot of the tech around Stark’s mansion. He even appears to have a bit of a personality, which became an especially prevalent plot point in Avengers: Age of Ultron. While Zuckerberg hasn’t stated plans to make anything quite this ambitious, he does appear to cite Iron Man as one of the inspirations for the new AI he’d like to create to help him out around the house while also assisting him in his daily business.

He also references learning Mandarin. This isn’t an Iron Man reference, although it’s a little humorous when put into that context.

Unfortunately, you probably noticed that he doesn’t really make any references to putting this new AI on the market. Of course, if he’s successful, it’s fun to imagine this AI hitting computer stores within a few years.
