There hasn’t been much rest for Finn Jones. After finishing his arc on Season 6 of Game of Thrones, the actor soon got work with Iron Fist and it’s been non-stop with Defenders following it up — now work on Season 2 of Iron Fist is already underway. Fitting that the first step forward would be martial arts training.
In the tweeted image below, Jones showed his fans the work he’s putting in.

This announcement by Jones may be met with excitement — or with no reaction at all. Since Season 1, things have been perplexing for Marvel’s Netflix properties. Though a marketing firm deduced that Iron Fist was the second most-viewed original show by Marvel and Netflix, there is no hiding that Iron Fist received the worst reviews of any Marvel-Netflix show. And while Defenders is seen in a more favorable light with a rebound of the Danny Rand character, that series had a relatively poor 30-day performance as compared to its predecessors.
But there’s always a silver lining. The Punisher is slated for a release by the end of 2017 and has gotten positive responses for those anticipating the return of Jon Bernthal — a standout in Season 2 of Daredevil — and Iron Fist seems to be course-correcting after Raven Metzner replaced Scott Buck as showrunner.
Any other information on Season 2 of Iron Fist is scarce, although principal photography is said to begin by the end of the year.
You can still see Jones as Danny Rand in Marvel’s The Defenders, starring Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, Deborah Ann Woll, Simone Missick, Elden Henson, Carrie-Anne Moss, Eka Darville, Rachel Taylor, Rosario Dawson, Scott Glenn, Jessica Henwick, Elodie Yung and Sigourney Weaver.
Marvel’s The Defenders follows Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. A quartet of singular heroes with one common goal – to save New York City. This is the story of four solitary figures, burdened with their own personal challenges, who realize they just might be stronger when teamed together.
Marvel’s The Defenders is now available to stream on Netflix.
