Marvel Rising Secret Warriors HeaderMarvel has announced the release of a brand-new animated film entitled Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors, set to feature characters like Ms. Marvel, Squirrel Girl, Miss America, Quake and a cast full of diverse Marvel heroes.

Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors will be part of a larger multi-platform franchise that is set to launch next year with a series of animated shorts that will feature Spider-Gwen, who will be referred to as Ghost-Spider in this new series.

Marvel’s director of content and character development, Sana Amanat, discussed the newly announced project and the excitement of reaching a new generation of Marvel fans:

“This feature [film] is an evolution of all the great characters that people have come to love. It came out of a desire to be able to tell stories about characters that we think are the next great heroes of the Marvel Universe. I think it’s incredibly important that we tell young women and young girls that they have this incredible power within themselves, and that they have heroes out there [who] … they can look up to, especially in these times.”
