Speaking at D23 Expo Japan 2018, the chairman for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, Bob Chapek, announced that Disney guests will have new and exciting ways to interact with their favorite Marvel superheroes through new Marvel attractions.
Following the previously reported news that the Marvel Universe was coming to Disneyland Paris, Chapek stated that the resort’s Walt Disney Studios Park, and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is to be completely re-imagined as a high-speed adventure where guests will get to team up with The Avengers. Additionally, Chapek let attendees get a sneak peek at one of the rooms opening up at Disney’s Hotel New York: The Art of Marvel. This room will showcase works of art inspired by the hit super heroes.
A new attraction will be also be added to Hong Kong Disneyland, which already boasts Iron Man Experience (the most popular attraction at the park). Chapek shared details on the second Marvel attraction coming to the park, and revealed it is a thrilling adventure where guests can team up with Ant-Man and The Wasp to fight Arnim Zola’s army of Hydra swarm bots.
The last bit of information Chapek discussed was the plan to bring the Guardians of the Galaxy to Epcot. This family attraction will feature a brand-new ride system, and will be one of the longest enclosed roller coasters in the world.
Do any of these new Marvel attractions get you excited for the future of Disney Parks? Also, with the eventual expansion of Marvel attractions at Disney California Adventure on the horizon, what do you hope can be implemented to the park along with Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!? 10 Potential Directors For The New ‘Star Wars’ Films From David Benioff & D.B. Weiss
Star Wars has been in the news quite a bit lately. Star Wars: The Last Jedi was the biggest (and most divisive) film of the year. Solo: A Star Wars Story finally released a trailer that lit up social media. Now, Lucasfilm has announced that Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have signed on to write and produce a new series of Star Wars films, separate from the already confirmed trilogy from The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson and the Skywalker Saga.
Little is known about these projects at this point. Will these films follow an original storyline or will they draw from the original expanded universe material (possibly a Knights of the Old Republic adaptation?) yet that does not mean that it is too early to be looking at potential directors. Star Wars, being one of the biggest film franchises in the world, is something that most directors would leap at. Which directors though would best with the creative minds of David Benioff and D.B. Weiss? What visions would enhance their world or even by contrast compliment their style?
These ten directors should be just some of the few that Disney and Lucasfilm should consider for these new Star Wars films from Benioff and Weiss. Hit Next to get started!
