Marvel’s Not Planning ‘Spider-Man’ Sequels… Yet

With Spider-Man confirmed to appear in Captain America: Civil War and shooting officially wrapped, the future for everyone’s favorite webslinger looks pretty bright for the first time in a long time.

It’s pretty much a given that we’ll be seeing a lot more of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, but for now, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige insists he’s just focused on the first Spidey standalone film, currently set for 2017:

Well, there could be [spin-offs]. But the truth is, our job right now is that single Spider-Man movie based in the MCU. And that’s where all our focus is.

That sounds like a much smarter strategy than what Sony had been planning prior to the collapse of its Amazing Spider-Man franchise: plans which included two more standalone films, and spin-off films for the Sinister Six, Venom, and Black Cat. (Let’s just pretend like they were never seriously considering an Aunt May film, ok?)

Are you excited to finally see Spider-Man in the MCU? Do you still hope Drew Goddard gets to make his Sinister Six spin-off? Sound off in the comments below!
