Marvel’s ‘Runaways’ Production Has Officially Wrapped

Runaways Comic Book TVFans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe excited to see the franchise expand its efforts in the television medium have a means to celebrate now. Production on their upcoming Hulu series Runaways has now officially wrapped.

Actors James Marsters and Angel Parker, who play Victor Stein and Catherine Wilder respectively shared some photos celebrating the wrap party for Runaways. You can see their posts down below.

Filming on the series pilot occurred in February and ended in March. Production on the other nine episodes commenced in late June and has now ended as of October 21, 2017.

Early reactions for Runaways have been pretty positive so far. With Marvel’s television slate exploring numerous distribution models such as through ABC (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Agent Carter and Inhumans), Netflix (Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders and The Punisher), Freeform (New Warriors and Cloak and Dagger) and now Hulu, the MCU continues to expand to tell more obscure stories for fans who are unfamiliar to many of these comic properties.

Here’s the official synopsis:

“Every teenager thinks their parents are evil. What if you found out they actually were? “Marvel’s Runaways” is the story of six diverse teenagers who can barely stand each other but who must unite against a common foe–their parents.”

 Marvel’s Runaways premieres on Hulu on November 21, 2017.

New Comic Book Shows That Are Coming In 2017-2018

Comic Book TVThe current TV season is pretty much done as several comic book and superhero TV shows have concluded their respective seasons. All the comic book shows that aired this year will be back for the new TV season with The CW’s The Flash, Supergirl, Riverdale, iZombie, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, with ABC bringing Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. back for another season and FOX giving Gotham and Lucifer another go.

FX is also bringing back their new comic book TV hit series with Legion while AMC is bringing back The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead for new seasons, along with their new Vertigo hit Preacher. While the comic book TV landscape is already epic in scope, it’s only going to get bigger next year. The 2017-2018 television season is going to be one of the biggest seasons of all time for comic book adaptations for both DC and Marvel.
