Rumor: Will Michael K. Williams Play A Villain In ‘Han Solo’?

Michael K. Williams Han Solo

The Wire’s Michael K. Williams is currently in negotiations to star in the upcoming standalone Han Solo film. But which character will he play?

There is speculation that Williams might be in line to play the film’s main villain, opposite Alden Ehrenreich’s younger version of Han Solo. Nothing, however, has been confirmed as of yet.

The untitled Han Solo film is being directed by The LEGO Movie’s Phil Lord and Chris Miller, with a script by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan. The film has already set up its cast and it’s proving to be pretty wonderful. The cast has been confirmed to include Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, Woody Harrelson as Han Solo’s mentor, Garris Shrike, Game of Throne’s Emilia Clarke, and Westworld’s Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca.

Although there isn’t any information about what the plot might entail, the standalone, like Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, will be set before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope and will more than likely be Han Solo’s origin story. Harrison Ford originated the character in A New Hope.

The untitled spinoff movie is not set to hit theaters until May 25, 2018. Keep on the lookout for more news from Heroic Hollywood!
