Last week, it was reported that The Wire star Michael K. Williams was in negotiations to join the untitled Han Solo film starring Alden Ehrenreich (Beautiful Creatures) as the titular hero. Today the official Star Wars website made the announcement that Williams has officially joined the project, while still not mentioning who he is playing.
Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s untitled Han Solo spin-off film, starring Alden Ehrenreich (Beautiful Creatures) as Han Solo, Donald Glover (Community, Atlanta) as Lando Calrissian, Woody Harrelson (The Hunger Games), Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) Thandie Newton (Westworld), Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag) and Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca, is set to open in theaters on May 25, 2018. The screenplay comes from Lawrence and Jon Kasdan.
Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi, starring Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Carrie Fisher as General Leia Organa, Daisy Ridley as Rey, Adam Driver as Kylo Ren, John Boyega as Finn, Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron, Lupita Nyong’o as Maz Kanata, Domhnall Gleeson as General Hux, Anthony Daniels as C-3PO, Gwendoline Christie as Captain Phasma, Andy Serkis as Supreme Leader Snoke, along with Benicio del Toro, Laura Dern and Kelly Marie Tran, opens in theaters on Friday, December 15.
