Don’t Think Twice director, Mike Birbiglia doesn’t understand why the MPAA gave his brand new movie an R-rating while allowing, Suicide Squad which is full of gun toting violence only a PG-13. Birbiglia took to Twitter vent his frustration with such a decision.
Suicide Squad has machine gun killings and bombings and got a PG-13 rating. @Dontthinkmovie gets an R because adults smoke pot. Confusing?

He later added “F- the MPAA”, but has since deleted the tweet.
Trainwreck, Funny People and This is 40 director, Judd Apatow responded to Birbiglia adding his opinion on the matter.
Studios own the ratings board. Violence sells so they make pot and sex the scary thing so they seem caring. https://t.co/S3VpKxUXbu

Suicide Squad hits theaters this week but is not faring well with critics which could spell more trouble for DC and Warner Bros. Don’t Think Twice was released earlier this year at South by Southwest and currently holds a 100% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The film stars Birbiglia, Keegan-Michael Key, Gillian Jacobs, Kate Micucci, Tami Sagher and Chris Gethard.
