Deadline reports Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights) has been cast in DC’s upcoming live-action Titans series.
Kelly is set to play Dawn Granger aka Dove, one-half of the crime-fighting couple Hawk and Dove opposite Alan Richson who was just announced as Hawk. The actress will appear as a recurring character in the first season with an option to return as a regular in Season 2. The producers are reportedly exploring a potential Hawk and Dove spinoff series for Kelly and Ritchson to lead.
In addition to Ritchson, Kelly joins Anna Diop (24: Legacy) as the alien princess Koriand’r aka Starfire, 13-year old actress Teagan Croft as Raven, and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales star Brenton Thwaites who leads the series as Dick Grayson. The series is also expected to feature Garfield Logan aka Beast Boy, with other heroes possibly appearing as well.
The series written by DC creative chief officer Geoff Johns, Akiva Goldsman (Star Trek: Discovery) and Greg Berlanti (Arrow, DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow, The Flash, Supergirl) follows a group of young superheroes from all over the DC Universe when Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of the fearless band of new heroes known as the Titans.
The long in development live-action series adaptation of the Teen Titans comes from Weed Road Pictures and Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. Goldsman, Johns and Berlanti Prods’ Berlanti and Sarah Schechter serving as exec producers. Here’s the official synopsis:
“Titans explores one of the most popular comic book teams ever. It follows a group of young soon-to-be superheroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. In the action-adventure series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes that includes Starfire, Raven and others.”

The current TV season is pretty much done as several comic book and superhero TV shows have concluded their respective seasons.
