Mission: Impossible 6 has found one of its new leads.
Variety has revealed that The Crown actress Vanessa Kirby is in finals talks to join Tom Cruise in the next installment of the action-packed franchise, which is looking to start production this Spring.
Christopher McQuarrie — the director behind 2015’s Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation — is back at the helm, with Variety reporting that Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg and Jeremy Renner are among some of the actors that are expected to return for the highly anticipated sequel.
The trade has no details on Kirby’s role, but it adds that it’s “on the same level” as Ferguson’s Ilsa Faust from Rogue Nation. Of course, Ferguson ended up stealing that movie, so we can only hope the same for Kirby.
Mission: Impossible 6 opens on July 27, 2018.
