‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout’ Review Round-Up: More Than Delivers With ‘Adrenaline Pumping’ Action

Mission: Impossible - Fallout Tom CruiseThe first reviews for Mission: Impossible – Fallout have hit the web and they describe the film as raising the bar for the franchise.

The first reviews for Mission: Impossible – Fallout have hit the web and they are pretty good. This may be one of the most intriguing movies of the summer. Many people are of the belief that the Mission: Impossible films just get better with each new movie, and it seems as though this film will live up to that expectation.

Robert Abelle from The Wrap:

“McQuarrie and gang must have high-fived themselves over that “Fallout” title, with its tripled resonance to the story. It starts with a flubbed mission for Ethan Hunt (Cruise), in which his loyalty to his team — returning players Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames, always welcome — is tested in an undercover deal gone sour. The fallout for the IMF gang’s mistake is, well, fallout, since a mysterious anarchist in cahoots with a terrorist sect known as The Apostles plans to detonate nuclear bombs around the world.”

Chris Nashawaty from Entertainment Weekly

“It delivers. More than that, it’s become the rare franchise that seems to just get better, twistier, and more deliriously fun with each installment.”

Sam Adams from Slate:

“It delivers. More than that, it’s become the rare franchise that seems to just get better, twistier, and more deliriously fun with each installment.”

David Ehlrich from Indiewire:

“Not since Fury Road have such viscerally practical effects been put to better use by such deliriously impractical people.”

Nick Schager from The Daily Beast:

“Determined to perpetually raise the bar for both the series and himself, Cruise again proves, with his latest, that both of those seemingly impossible feats is possible.”

Rafer Guzman from Newsday:

“Here is Cruise, 56, performing some of the most impressive feats of derring-do ever captured on screen.”

Germain Lussier from io9:

“You’ll leave the theater delightfully exhausted after spending almost the entire length of the frantically piecing together the plot, feeling your adrenaline pumping during the action scenes, and gripping the seat from constant tension.”

Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, Mission: Impossible – Fallout stars Tom Cruise, Rebecca Ferguson, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Michelle Monaghan, Alec Baldwin, Sean Harris, Vanessa Kirby, Henry Cavill, Sian Brooke, Frederick Schmidt and Angela Bassett.
