New artwork shows Game of Thrones star Natalie Portman as Poison Ivy for Robert Pattinson’s The Batman universe.
Although The Batman won’t hit theaters until October 2021, many fans are already anticipating what’s ahead from the new series from Matt Reeves and starring Robert Pattinson as the next Caped Crusader. While a prominent rumor suggested a new version of the Joker will plague Gotham City, one villain who deserves a fresh live-action treatment is Poison Ivy. And thanks to a flawless new fan edit, it’s clear that Natalie Dormer is perfect for the role.
Although Poison Ivy currently stars on the animated Harley Quinn series, the artwork imagines the villain with a much more seductively sinister manner for The Batman. The concept comes from digital artist ‘mizuriau’ on Instagram and gives Natalie Dormer’s Poison Ivy a stunning look, complete with the red hair and the green skin. The character is also given what could be a leafy crown and it’s easy to picture the actress going head-to-head with Robert Pattinson in a future film. Plus, it’d be interesting to see how Matt Reeves weaves Poison Ivy into a dark and terrifying tale to match the first film. Because let’s face it, that first trailer was incredibly tense. Plot details for The Batman are being kept under lock and key, but we know that the project will revolve around Robert Pattinson as a younger Bruce Wayne, chronicling Batman during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector. The Batman will also feature the hero making use of his detective skills more than what we’ve seen before in previous iterations of the character. It is also expected to be the first installment to a new Batman trilogy with Pattinson.
Directed by Matt Reeves from a script he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin, the film stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál, with Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin.
