One of the possibly upcoming comic book sitcoms has just added a big name to its pilot and it’s for DC’s Powerless! The Hollywood Reporter revealed that High School Musical actress Vanessa Hudgens has been cast as the lead role for the DC Comics based sitcom on NBC. She will be playing Emily Locke who is described as followed.

“An insurance claims adjuster who loves her job because she gets to help people, Emily likes to fly under the radar and just get her work done. She finds herself increasingly exasperated by the disruptive antics of the various Super Heroes that proliferate in her city.”

As a reminder, Powerless only has a pilot order so far and we won’t find out till May (if not a little earlier) if it will go to series. A to Z’s Ben Queen wrote the pilot and will be serving as an executive producer along with Michael Patrick Jann who will also direct the Powerless pilot.

Described as an office sitcom, Powerless tells the story about a struggling insurance company in America that is set in the DC Comics Universe and tells the lives of ordinary humans who lives in a world with heroes and villains.
