Netflix & Marvel’s ‘The Punisher’ Gets A New Banner

The Punisher Netflix MarvelMarvel and Netflix’s highly-anticipated The Punisher series just received a new banner, possibly indicating that the series may be arriving soon.

While it’s still not clear when the Netflix series will actually air – as the company and Marvel Entertainment are actively trying to keep the release date a secret – The Punisher will be coming to seek retribution before the end of the year. The new banner actually toys with the secrecy behind the release date by telling potential viewers that “the truth must be taken”, potentially hinting that fans will be able to find the date if they look closely enough:

The Punisher itself is the first Marvel Netflix show to not be a part of their initial line-up of series (which consisted of the first seasons of DaredevilJessica JonesLuke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders), serving as a spin-off to the second season of Daredevil. Jon Bernthal’s take on the character has been met with praise from both longtime fans and critics alike, making the decision to do a spin-off something of a no-brainer.

The Punisher begins a reign of terror sometime late into this year. Its cast includes Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle (The Punisher), Ben Barnes as Billy Russo (Jigsaw), Ebon Moss-Bachrach as David “Micro” Lieberman (Microchip), Amber Rose Revah as Dinah Madani, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Daniel Webber as Lewis Walcott, Jason R. Moore as Curtis Hoyle, Paul Schulze as Rawlins, Jaime Ray Newman as Sarah Lieberman, and Michael Nathanson as Sam Stein.
