New Clip From ‘Moana’ Introduces Gramma Tala

Disney Animation Studios has been consistently knocking it out of the part with their original properties. With a hot streak for the last four years consisting of Wreck-It Ralph, Frozen, Big Hero 6, and Zootopia, there’s no doubting their next project will do just as well. Disney’s next animated project is Moana, and it doesn’t hurt that talented musician Lin Manuel Miranda is providing the music, along with the insanely enigmatic Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson co-starring.  And the latest clips from the film have been showcasing some of the other strong supporting characters filling out the cast, and a new clip just released today showcases yet another, Gramma Tala.

I love the twist that this clip provides, as most of us would assume that Gramma Tala, acting as a responsible grandparent, would advise her not to traverse the mountain, but instead encourages her actions. I’ve loved everything I’ve seen from this movie, and every clip I see points towards a similar theme, and that is that this film will be incredibly heartwarming. I can’t wait to be fully immersed in this world when the movie opens on November 23rd, 2016.

“A sweeping, CG-animated adventure about a spirited teenager who sails out on a daring mission to prove herself a master wayfinder and fulfill her ancestors’ unfinished quest. During her journey, Moana meets the once-mighty demi-god Maui, and together, they traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous fiery creatures and impossible odds.”

Moana stars Dwayne Johnson, Auli’i Cravalho, Nicole Scherzinger, Alan Tudyk, and Jermaine Clement
