Paramount Pictures officially announced tonight at CinemaCon that the untitled Cloverfield movie previously known as God Particle will hit theaters later this year in October.
The new Cloverfield movie is the third film set in the Cloverfield franchise following last year’s spiritual successor to the 2008 monster flick, 10 Cloverfield Lane. The JJ Abrams-produced picture was written by T Oren Uziel and Doug Jung and directed by Julius Onah.
The film revolves around a team of Astronauts on board an American Space Station who discover that Earth has suddenly disappeared after an accident with a particle accelerator. The plot thickens when the Astronauts discover traces of another space station nearby.
The untitled Cloverfield movie previously known as God Particle was originally slated to hit theaters on February 25, 2017, but was plucked from the date and delayed until October. The cause for the delay itself remains unknown.
The film stars Gugu-Mbatha Raw, David Oyelowo, John Krasinski, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris O’Dowd, Ziyi Zhang and Daniel Brühl. Here’s the official synopsis:
A shocking discovery forces a team of astronauts aboard a space station to fight for survival while their reality has been altered.
The Untitled Cloverfield movie hits theaters October 27, 2017.
