Production is currently underway for Netflix’s Punisher series, which stars Jon Bernthal. First appearing in Daredevil season 2, Bernthal’s performance was acclaimed by both fans and critics, which gave Marvel further confidence in the character’s solo series. There aren’t many details on the show and what it’ll encompass, but thanks to a few set photos that appeared on Getty Images, we can at least see what Frank Castle is up to.
You can check out the images here.
If you’d like to remain unsullied but need your Punisher fix, the images showcase Bernthal filming near and in a black truck. He’s seen vaulting over a New York Police Department car and later seen in the car itself. He’s also carrying flowers in a few images. In some images, he appears to be injured, but in later images, they have healed.
While these images don’t give us an indication of the plot or any other characters, they’re still welcomed.
The showrunner for the series is Steve Lightfoot, best known for his work as a writer on Hannibal. The cast for the series includes Jon Bernthal, Ben Barnes, Daniel Webber, Deborah Ann Woll (who reprises her role from Daredevil), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
Previous Marvel/Netflix shows include Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and the recent Iron Fist. All four of these heroes will next be seen in Marvel’s Defenders which hits Netflix this summer. A release date for the stand-alone Punisher has not been revealed as of yet.
