The Pirates of The Caribbean franchise is a thick beast. Behind the CGI wonder, none of the films have really excelled beyond the original (and maybe the second). However, following the incredible box office return of the last film back in 2011, Disney have decided to go ahead with a fifth Pirates film. The new movie, Dead Men Tell No Tales, features the return of Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow, as well as Orlando Bloom’s Will Turner. The film also stars a range of new actors, including Gods of Egypt‘s Brenton Thwaites and Skyfall‘s Javier Bardem. The latest trailer debuted earlier today on The Ellen Show.

So, what do you guys think? Are you excited about yet another Pirates film? Of course, Depp’s personal life has not helped this picture’s credibility at all, but Disney have desperately tried to shut that out of the film’s production so far, and will – undoubtedly – continue to do so. Are you a fan of the new trailer?
The rip-roaring adventure finds down-on-his-luck Captain Jack feeling the winds of ill-fortune blowing strongly his way when deadly ghost sailors, led by the terrifying Captain Salazar, escape from the Devil’s Triangle bent on killing every pirate at sea—notably Jack. Jack’s only hope of survival lies in the legendary Trident of Poseidon, but to find it he must forge an uneasy alliance with Carina Smyth, a brilliant and beautiful astronomer, and Henry, a headstrong young sailor in the Royal Navy. At the helm of the Dying Gull, his pitifully small and shabby ship, Captain Jack seeks not only to reverse his recent spate of ill fortune, but to save his very life from the most formidable and malicious foe he has ever faced.
Dead Men Tell No Tales is set to hit theatres everywhere on May 26th, 2017.
