Nicolas Cage Suits Up As Superman In ‘Crisis On Infinite Earths’ Fan Art

Nicolas Cage Superman Lives Crisis on Infinite Earths Arrowverse

New artwork inspired by The CW’s Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event shows Nicolas Cage suited up as Superman for the Arrowverse.

Earlier this year, The CW completed what was its most ambitious Arrowverse crossover yet with the Crisis on Infinite Earths event. It ultimately proved to be more ambitious then anyone was expecting with cameos from Justice League star Ezra Miller as The Flash and  Lucifer star Tom Ellis. At one point, however, Arrowverse producer Marc Guggenheim approached Nicolas Cage about playing Superman in the crossover event.

Nicolas Cage was once set to play the Man of Steel in Superman Lives, which was partly based on The Death and Return of Superman storyline. Tim Burton was on board to direct Superman Lives but it was cancelled after Warner Bros. lost faith in the project. Nicolas Cage would eventually voice the DC Comics hero in Teen Titans Go! to the Movies, but he never got a chance to play the character in a live-action project. A new concept design from digital artist “britedit” on Instagram shows off what Nicolas Cage could have looked like as Superman in the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event.
