Speculation on whether or not Ben Affleck will return to play Batman in the DC Extended Universe seems endless at this point, but even if he will reprise his role as the Caped Crusader in the near future, that’s not stopping numerous individuals from throwing their name into consideration to step into the Cape and Cowl. In fact, it’s not just actors expressing interest but also Oakland Raiders Quarterback Derek Carr.
On his official Twitter, Carr replied to a Raiders fan’s question on if he would appear in a movie anytime soon. Carr then expressed his desires to take over the Batman role:

The Raiders’ official Twitter also expressed that they would like to see their Quarterback play the World’s Greatest Detective:

Obviously, seeing an NFL star like Carr step into the role of not just any major superhero role, but perhaps the most coveted one of them all in Batman is unlikely. Carr is certainly just expressing his love for the character, which just goes to show how beloved characters like Batman are within the broader culture. Batman is so adored worldwide that he transcends comic books as one of the most beloved fictional characters of all-time.
