Official ‘Aquaman’ Website Reveals New Story Details

Aquaman Movie LogoThe official Aquaman movie website is now live and along with it came some new details regarding Arthur Curry’s origin story in the upcoming standalone film.

James Wan’s upcoming swashbuckling action-adventure centered on the King of Atlantis will dive much deeper into the character’s past as it explores the discovery of his powers and his reluctance to accept his role as King. According to the film’s official website, Aquaman will be a journey of self-discovery that explores whether or not Jason Momoa’s version of the hero is worthy to sit on the throne:

The film reveals the origin of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime–one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.

In addition to the new details, the site also reveals that The Conjuring 2 writer David Leslie Johnson McGoldrick has co-written the script with Will Beall (Gangster Squad).

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Patrick Wilson as Orm, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry, Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko and Ludi Lin as Murk.

Aquaman is set to hit theaters on December 21, 2018.
