It’s no secret that Shane Black will be heralding a new instalment into the ‘Predator‘ series, and now Olivia Munn is in negotiations to join the sequel to the classic horror movie. The ‘X-Men: Apocalypse‘ star be starring in the film as a scientist alongside Boyd Holbrook’s Special Forces Commando. In an exclusive from The Hollywood Reporter, a short extract was also included that teased a little of what to expect from Shane Black’s next film.
“The story plunks the deadly alien hunter, who audiences have seen fight in jungles, concrete jungles, frozen wastelands and alien planets, in the harsh environment of … suburbia.”
Yes, you read that right. It looks like ‘Predator‘ will be hunting unsuspecting home owners and families. Although just because the setting seems to have toned down, don’t expect the rating to decline too. Shane Black has already spoken at length at how 20th Century Fox are more than happy to let him work to an R-Rating standard. This is largely down to the success and legacy of the franchise itself. But then of course since ‘Deadpool‘ became a huge hit this year, they’re that little bit more inclined to green light more violent movies.
The film begins shooting mid-February next year, aiming for a February 2018 release.
