One Of Marvel’s Upcoming Films Could Be Set In The Past

Marvel’s ‘Phase One’ slate was filled with wonderfully told origin stories. Iron Man is arguably one of the best films Marvel has developed to date. It paved the way for Captain America: The First Avenger, Thor and The Incredible Hulk.

While most of these films lineup chronologically Captain America: The First Avenger does not. The First Avenger was set way back in World War II, while the others were set in present day.

Recently Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige informed everyone that they would not tell anymore origin stories after Ant-Man. Meaning that Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel and The Inhumans movies would be an introduction to characters already active in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Io9 got a chance to ask Feige if any of the future marvel films could be an introduction story set in the past? Feige answered…

Certainly we could [set another one in the past]. There are no rules. I think the majority of them will be chronological, but not all of them necessarily.

This isn’t a solid confirmation, but would you like to see another Marvel film that’s a period piece?
