Entertainment Weekly has provided some brand new looks at Aquaman action figures, showing off the designs of the film’s villains and supporting cast.
We will be getting our first look at Aquaman this Saturday when the film’s trailer will be released. Until then, we are left wondering just what this movie will look like. So far, the DC Extended Universe has been often criticized for its dark tone and color palette. However, we have heard that James Wan’s Aquaman is a much brighter product, which is ironic coming from a horror director. Still, one can’t help but wonder if the costume designs will provide more color.
Aquaman’s characters are visually dynamic, and by the looks of these action figures, this is not at all lost on Wan. Though the colors may have been altered for the action figures, what we see here are some bright, exciting costumes for Aquaman’s villains. Orm’s full Ocean Master costume looks really cool and visually distinct, while Black Manta’s design is ripped straight from the comics. We also get a look at Willem Defoe’s Vulko and his hammerhead shark. That’s right, we will see Willem Defoe riding a hammerhead shark. What more can you possibly ask for?
