Patton Oswalt Set To Return To ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’

Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Patton Oswalt KoenigOne of the early Marvel characters that we got back in 2014 on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was Eric Koenig, portrayed by Patton Oswalt and while his character was killed off, the Koenig presence didn’t disappear at all. We then started seeing Oswalt pop up as Eric’s identical brothers, Billy and Sam Koenig.

Entertainment Weekly broke the news today that Oswalt will be appearing in the 12th episode titled “Hot Potato Soup” which airs on Tuesday, January 31. According to the EW, the two Koenig brothers are “being hunted down in a bid to get at the Darkhold and only Coulson and Co can save them”. However, the show-runners Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen

“Patton Oswalt returns as the Koenigs, and we finally reveal their family secret.”

The family secret that they may be referring to is the long-time fan theory that the Koenigs have never been identical triplets and are actually Life Model Decoys, which is exactly what the current arc of the season is all about. Could this finally be the reveal that they have been LMDs this whole time? EW also revealed a first look at Oswalt’s return to the show which you can see below.
