Pepper Potts Wearing Engagement Ring In New ‘Avengers 4’ Set Photos

Avengers

Yesterday, Gwyneth Paltrow was spotted on the set of Marvel’s Avengers 4, revealing that her character Pepper Potts will appear in the film. Today, in a new series of set photos of Paltrow and Robert Downey Jr., the actress can be seen wearing an engagement ring. Are Pepper Potts and Tony Stark now engaged? The evidence seems to point to yes.

You can check out the image in the tweet below:

The ring in question was actually referenced in one of the final scenes of Spider-Man: Homecoming, the same scene in which Paltrow made her surprise cameo return to the MCU after not having appeared since 2013’s Iron Man 3. When Peter Parker (Tom Holland) refuses to accept Tony’s offer to join the Avengers, Pepper enters from a room full of eager reporters who were told that Tony had an announcement to make. Tony then asks Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau) is he still has the ring he always carries, to which Happy says he does, seemingly hinting that they gave the reporters a story worth selling: Tony and Pepper’s engagement. These photos seem to confirm that she said yes.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Starlord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautisa as Drax, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Vin Diesel as Groot, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Karen Gillan as Mantis, Sean Gunn as Kraglin, Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange/Doctor Strange, Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier, Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa/Black Panther, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Benedict Wong as Wong, Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, and Josh Brolin as Thanos
