MASSIVE SPOILER WARNING: The following article reveals the identity of Peter Dinklage’s character in Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War. Read at your own risk.
For quite some time, fans in excitement for Avengers: Infinity War have speculated about the identity of the character played by Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage. Recently, some speculated that Dinklage was playing Corvus Glaive, who is a member of Thanos’ Black Order.
Well, the film has finally hit theaters and the identity of Dinklage’s character is none other than Eitri the Dwarf King.
When Thor, Rocket and Groot visit the abandoned planet of Nidavellir to craft a new weapon for the God of Thunder to wield, they are caught by surprise when they meet Eitri – who looks deeply distraught. Eitri accuses Thor of not protecting Nidavellir in their time of need but given the existential threat that Thanos presents leads him to help craft Thor’s new weapon: Stormbreaker.
The Stormbreaker axe grants Thor the power of the Bifröst and is composed of the metal as well as some strong wood that Groot provides to serve as its handle. Thor wields his brand new weapon as he, Rocket and Groot leave Eitri as they are transported back to Earth – specifically Wakanda.
