Last month, it was confirmed that Megalyn Echikunwoke would be reprising her character in the animated CW Seed series Vixen in a live-action role on Arrow. We now know a bit about the character’s appearance, thanks to a tweet by Arrow star Stephen Amell which shows him hanging out with Echikunwoke between takes. While we unfortunately don’t get to see much of her costume in the following picture (just the collar), we do get to see Vixen in what is presumably full make-up.

Echikunwoke’s Vixen may not look precisely like her animated counterpart, but that slight glimpse of the costume appears to indicate that the Arrow crew has done their best to emulate the
look, even if it isn’t 100% similar to the costume seen in Vixen. With the exception of general facial features, the primary difference in this photo is really the length of Vixen’s hair, which is quite a bit shorter in the animated series.
Amell snapped this photo during the shoot for “Taken,” the fifteenth episode of Arrow’s fourth season. Last night’s midseason premiere brings the season to ten episodes, so fans who have been looking forward to Vixen’s appearance should only have a little over a month to wait. As for the animated series, Vixen has been confirmed for a second season with a currently unannounced release date.
