Pilot Locations For ‘Black Lightning’ & Untitled ‘X-Men’ TV Show

X-Men TV Series Black LightningThe 2017-2018 TV Season might be getting the addition of a few new comic book shows, including the DC Comics drama Black Lightning and the untitled X-Men series. As pilot season is in full swing, several productions are coming up and it appears that CW DC series will film their pilot in Atlanta, Georgia while the mystery Marvel show will be filming in Dallas, Texas.

According to Black Lightning TV and KSiteTV, both pilots are reportedly set to start filming on Monday, March 20. Should both shows be picked up to series, they would join the already renewed comic book shows Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, Riverdale as well as the new ABC series, The Inhumans, that got a series order last year.

“Black Lightning centers on Jefferson Pierce. He made his choice: He hung up the suit and his secret identity years ago, but with a daughter hellbent on justice and a star student being recruited by a local gang, he’ll be pulled back into the fight as the wanted vigilante and DC legend Black Lightning.”

Salim Akil, Mara Brock Akil & Greg Berlanti’s Black Lightning, starring Cress Williams (Hart of Dixie, Friday Night Lights) as Jefferson Pierce/Black Lightning, Nafessa Williams (Code Black) as Jennifer Pierce and China Anne McClain (House of Payne) as Anissa Pierce, currently has a pilot order on The CW.

Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive. The series will be produced by 20th Century Fox Television and Marvel Television, with 20th Century Fox handling physical production.”

8 X-Men Characters Who Deserve Their Own Movie

X-MenSo it’s probably safe to assume everyone here has seen Logan? Well, based on how well it did in the box-office I think Fox is taking notes. Now that they have both Deadpool and Logan under their belts, I’m sure they will be bringing more X-Men characters to the big-screen as soon as possible.

There are so many great X-Men arcs to choose from, but I think focusing on personal stories and fewer characters is a way to ensure the movie connects with an audience. Mutants were originally composed as a metaphor for the Civil Rights movement, and that issue is still very much so alive in our society. I’m not saying every movie needs to be political, but they all have the potential to be about so much more than destruction and boss battles. Fox focus on smaller, personal stories that show mutants in a different light. Sure they can kick ass, but let’s make sure they always feel like real people, as Logan did.

Did I miss your favorite character? Well, let me know in the comment section why they should be included! So hit Next to see the eight mutants I think Fox should bring to the big-screen next!

In some small ways/aspects I agree but there is a vast difference between creating enduring modern mythology from nothing and evolving somone elses creation in a new media.

You know what I mean. Creating vs making movies of others people creations are way different

Man, these Marvel people are really the masters of hyperbole, aren’t they? That reminds me of when that chick who played Syf said she’s playing Marvel’s version of WW, LMAO.
