Amy Jo Johnson, the actress who portrayed the Pink Ranger on the original series in 1993, surprised the new Power Rangers cast when she came to interview them. During a press junket in Toronto, Johnson stopped by as a reporter for The Daily Hive, and visibly shocked the cast.
Johnson actually conducts a fairly normal interview after the initial surprise however, asking about the film’s impact on kids.
“The whole point is to remind the OG fans why they loved the Power Rangers, and the teamwork and positive message that it brings.But also to instill that in the younger generation,” said Ludi Lin.

The story follows five ordinary teens who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and before it’s too late, band together as the Power Rangers.
Power Rangers, which was featured on our must watch March list, is directed by Dean Israelite. The film stars Dacre Montgomery, Naomi Scott, RJ Cyler, Becky G, Ludi Lin, Bill Hader, Bryan Cranston, and Elizabeth Banks.
Power Rangers hits theaters on March 24th, 2017.
