Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be released on December 16th but up until this week, post-production was still in full force. This is very common for a film on the scale of Rogue One. With so many visual and special effects to finalize, the teams working behind-the-scenes often work right up until days before release.
Industrial Light and Magic’s Todd Vaziri celebrated the wrap with a fun fan-made meme. Vaziri previously worked on Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Trek.

While work on the film is just being finalized, fan anticipation has reached new heights. MovieTickets.com reported that Rogue One is leading the site in presale tickets for 2016. Fandango reported that Monday was it’s highest sales for advance tickets this year and that Rogue One was the second highest in pre-ticketing sales, only behind The Force Awakens.
Before the release, Disney and Lucasfilm are moving full steam ahead with promotion for the film with a special Twitter live stream event taking place on Friday, December 2 at 10 a.m. PST. The event is being put together by Disney, Lucasfilm and People Magazine.
The live stream will feature never-before-seen content and a Q&A with Gareth Edwards, in addition to cast members from Rogue One including, Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk and Riz Ahmed.
Following the foundation of the Galactic Empire, a wayward band of Rebel fighters come together to carry out a desperate mission: to steal the plans for the Death Star before it can be used to enforce the Emperor’s rule.
