‘Powerless’: ‘Wayne Dream Team’ Review

Powerless

The Wayne Securities team is back in the second episode of NBC’s Powerless, entitled “Wayne Dream Team.”

Emily (Vanessa Hudgens) may have saved everyone’s job in last week’s series premiere, but she’s still haven’t a tough time fitting in. Trying to be both a boss and a friend to her team even though Jackie (Christina Kirk) insists it can’t be done, Emily is struggling with both. Her struggle comes at an unfortunate time, as the team is supposed to be working on a big project with a rapidly approaching deadline, but they’re getting distracted with a Superhero Fantasy League. When she tries to get them back to work without jeopardizing their possible friendship, it all blows up in her face.

Meanwhile, Van Wayne (Alan Tudyk) is desperately trying to find a way to make it into the corporate Wayne Dream Team photograph.

    Easter Eggs:

The Superhero Fantasy league name at the end is “The Brightest Days”.

      Nice! Didn’t catch that one.

Sorry but this is simply awful. A bunch of poor employees who should have been fired long ago and the “new girl” who is too nice to do it. They don’t deserve her friendship and they don’t deserve to have jobs. I’ll give it a few more episodes but I doubt whether I–or anyone else–will be watching next year at this time. Prime fodder for cancellation.
