‘The Punisher’ Images Show Frank Castle In Sorrow

PunisherNetflix is going to have a heavy dose of Marvel this year. 2017 will mark the premiere of three brand new Netflix shows: Iron Fist, The Defenders and The Punisher. With Iron Fist under two months away and the recent EW stories exploring The Defenders in-depth, fans are still curious about how Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) is doing after his remarkable debut in Daredevil season two.

The Punisher is currently filming, and new photos have arrived from the production of this highly-anticipated series. In these four images, we see Bernthal’s Frank Castle donning a black jacket and boots with a bouquet of flowers in his hand. He wears a sorrowful look on his face, hinting that he may be visiting the graves of his wife and children. You can see these new images right here.

One of the most heart-wrenching moments in all of the Marvel Netflix shows was featured in episode 2.04 of Daredevil, titled “Penny and Dime.” Bernthal exhibited some of the best acting in his career where he delivers an emotionally-charged monologue to Daredevil at a cemetery. The pure pain that Frank Castle holds in his heart is indicative of why despite his methods on his war on crime, readers and audiences continue to empathize with the character thanks to that piece of humanity ingrained within him.

After the murder of his family, Frank Castle is both haunted and hunted. In the criminal underworld, he’ll become known as The Punisher.

What do you guys think these photos signify about Frank Castle? Is he visiting the graves of his family? Sound off in the comments below.

All episodes of the first season of Marvel’s The Punisher will be available to stream on Netflix later this year. In the meantime, Marvel’s Iron Fist will debut on March 17, and Marvel’s The Defenders will debut this summer.
