While speaking to IGN at San Diego Comic Con, Rachel Weisz talked a bit about her character in the upcoming film. She couldn’t say much, but she did say that there would be multiple Black Widow characters throughout the film. She, Scarlett Johansson, and Florence Pugh will all hold the title. The footage at San Diego Comic Con showed Scarlett Johansson facing off against Florence Pugh’s Yelena. There was also a quick glimpse of multiple women in Black Widow suits.

Rachel Weisz alludes to more characters holding the Black Widow title than just the three of them, but did not give away their relation to Scarlett Johannson’s character:

“There are quite a number…I’m a Black Widow and there’s Scarlett and Florence. There’s quite a bit of other characters you’ll also meet that are Black Widows.”
