Thanks to the early release of Avengers: Infinity War, Warner Bros. has pushed the release date for Rampage forward a week. That means the classic 1980’s video game adaptation is almost a month away from smashing its way into a theater near you. To help promote the film, Dwayne Johnson appeared at the beginning of a brand new international trailer intended for Chinese audiences. Speaking a little Mandarin, Johnson stated how excited he is to share Rampage with China.
The new trailer is chock full of brand new footage, including an exchange of words between Johnson’s Davis Okoye and Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Agent Russell. Check it out:
The trailer focuses on the scientific aspects of what is happening to the mutated animals, setting up the premise for moviegoers, and potentially setting up a potential solution for later in the film. We are also reintroduced to the three monsters rampaging throughout the film: George the gorilla, a flying wolf, and a giant alligator. This trailer has the best shots of the alligator seen so far, giving the beast a true sense of size and mass compared to both George and Okoye.
The trailer then culminates in perhaps the biggest action sequence from the movie so far, in which a giant George has teamed up with Okoye to fight the alligator head on in a monster versus monster showdown.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Primatologist Davis Okoye (Johnson), a man who keeps people at a distance, shares an unshakable bond with George, the extraordinarily intelligent, silverback gorilla who has been in his care since birth. But a rogue genetic experiment gone awry transforms this gentle ape into a raging monster. To make matters worse, it’s soon discovered there are other similarly altered alpha predators. As these newly created monsters tear across North America, destroying everything in their path, Okoye teams with a discredited genetic engineer to secure an antidote, fighting his way through an ever-changing battlefield, not only to halt a global catastrophe but to save the fearsome creature that was once his friend.
Directed by Brad Peyton, the film stars Dwayne Johnson, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Malin Akerman, Joe Manganiello, and Naomie Harris.
Rampage will now be hitting theaters April 13, 2018.
10 C-List Justice League Members You Should Know About
There are a few core iterations of the Justice League that most fans know. No matter what team fans are looking at, odds are Batman, Superman and some kind of Green Lantern are on the team. The movie version has five founding members and the comics’ has seven, but there are so many more superheroes who have been a part of the Justice League than that.
No matter how long or short someone’s stint is with the team, being a member of the team solidifies them as a true hero. These heroes have fought both street-level and world-threatening villains without blinking an eye. Fighting supervillains is just a part of the job for these members of the Justice League. As the team is set to go through a transformation in the comics under the supervision of writer Scott Snyder, it seems like a good time to look at some of the lesser-known heroes who have been members of the crimefighting team.
